1: Applied Art Museum, Vilnius
Set in the old Arsenal at the foot of Gediminas Hill, the Applied Art Museum houses a variety of excellent exhibits as well as historical artifacts from the nearby castle.
2: Ponary, Paneriai
Six miles outside Vilnius in the Paneriai forest, this somber place is the site of the Lithuanian holocaust. Visitors can visit both the memorial and a museum documenting the historical significance of the event.

6: St Gertrude Church (Kaunas)
A gothic gem of a church is tucked in a courtyard off Laisves aleja: St Gertrude Church was built in the late 15th century. Its red-brick crypt overflows with burning candles, prompting a separate candle shrine to be set up in a shed opposite the crypt entrance.
7: Hill of Crosses (Siauliai)
This 'Mecca of Lithuania' thousands upon thousands of crosses on a hillock has inspired countless pilgrimages. Large and tiny, expensive and cheap, wood and metal, the crosses are devotional, to accompany prayers, or finely carved folk art masterpieces. Others are memorials, tagged with flowers, a photograph or other mementoes in memory of the deceased, and inscribed with a sweet or sacred message. Traditional Lithuanian koplytstulpis (wooden sculptures of a figure topped with a little roof) intersperse the crosses, as do magnificent sculptures of the Sorrowful Christ.
8: Kaunas Castle
A reconstructed tower, sections of wall, and part of a moat are all that remain of Kaunas Castle, around which the town originally grew. Founded in the 13th century, it was an important bastion of Lithuania's western borders.
9: Gates of Dawn
The 16th century Gates of Dawn is the only one of the town wall's original nine gates still intact. The gate houses the Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the black and gold miracle working Virgin Mary icon. A gift from the Crimea by Grand Duke Algirdas in 1363, it is one of the holiest icons in Polish Catholicism, and the faithful arrive in droves to offer it whispered prayer.

11: Basketball
This is the first sculpture dedicated to basketball, not only in Lithuania, but also across all of Europe (author T. Gutauskas). The composition, featuring a stainless steel mirror ball lifted up on five columns, symbolises a hand holding a basketball. The sculpture has impressive dimensions it is nearly 6 metres in height and 30 tons in weight
12: Three Muses
The "Three Muses" by sculptor Stanislovas Kuzma, which crown the main entrance to the National Drama Theatre, have already become its symbol. The muses of Drama (Calliope), Comedy (Thalia) and Tragedy Melpomene) patronise the wide and diverse genres in the theatre's repertoire.
13: Trakai Castle
It is the only insular castle throughout Eastern Europe. It was built on one of the numerous islands in Lake Galve. The castle was built as a defensive fortress. After the Battle of ?algiris/Gr?nwald the castle lost its defensive significance. It was turned into a ducal residence. Trakai Island Castle was the death place of Grand Duke Vytautas. He died here on 27 October 1430. Later the castle served as a prison. In the XVII century the castle was desolated. Island castle is one of the most often visited historical architectural monuments in Lithuania. It houses a historical museum which has been working here since 1962. National events, festivals and concerts take place here.
14: The Church of St Nicholas
This is one of the oldest churches not only in Vilnius but also in Lithuania, which has preserved almost unchanged features of Gothic style. The Church was first mentioned in 1387. At the beginning of the 20th century this Church was the only church in Vilnius to hold services in Lithuanian. At the same time it was the centre for Lithuanian culture.
15: Museum of ancient beekeeping
The Museum was set up in 1984 by the initiative of Bronius Kazlas. Wooden sculptures around the museum tell the history of beekeeping in Lithuania. Their creator is carver Teofilis Patiejunas. In the museum you can learn about the protection of bee hollows from bears and about different kinds of beehives, made of the trunks. Beehives of this kind were used in Lithuani from the 15th until the beginning of the 20th century. Some sculptures are beehives themselves: the God of bees Babilas and the goddess Austeja are representatives from Lithuanian mythology.
16: The Church of St Teresa
This is one of the earliest Baroque churches in Vilnius, and it is presumed to be the work of an Italian architect, Constantino Tencalo, who also worked on St Casimir's Chapel in the cathedral. The Church was built between 1633 and 1650 under the patronage of Steponas Pacas Expensive materials were used to build the Church - sandstone imported from Sweden, granite and the black and red marble. In 1812 the interior of the Church was damaged, later the Church was renewed several times. The high altar is one of the most beautiful altars in Lithuania. Wall painting dates from the 18th century. The painting The Apotheosis of St Teresa on the high altar is by Szymon Czechowicz, and the paintings of saints in the nave are by Kanutas Ruseckas.
17: Siesikai Castle
Siesikai Castle is the residential castle near Siesikai, Ukmerge district, Lithuania. The castle on the Siesikai Lake was built by Gabrielius Daumantas Siesickis in the 16th century in the Renaissance style. His heirs were known as Daumantai, also called Siesicki, had given their family name to the nearby town. The masonry palace was reconstructed in the Neoclassical style after 1820 by Dominik Dowgiałło. Only 2 towers remain from the former castle, which had four of them in every corner of the palace. The castle has been undergoing restoration since 1990.
18: Lithuanian Independence monument in Rokiskis
In year 1931 the monument of Independence (sculptor Robertas Antinis) was build in Rokiskis square of independence, in front of Rokiskis church. It is the obelisk with a pagan priest, warrior and Lithuanian girl, who is holding a shield with sun and swastika (old pagan symbol) in stretched hands. Obelisk is standing on a pedestal stairs. There is an inscription on the monument: "1918 - 1928", but it was plastered over together with swastika in the seventies. In 1989 the son of sculptor, Robertas Antinis renovated the monument.
19: Yacht in Trakai
Yacht sailing in Trakai is one of the most interesting things in town. You will see the view from the yacht that will leave you huge impression. Trakai castle, Uzutrakis and Totoriskes palaces and of course, fascinating nature. It is not the same that just staying on the shore.
